A direct consequence of the development of the proposed information system will offer early warning of the possibility to develop in the mechanisms responsible for the protection of this area (Coast Guard, Civil Protection, etc) for better management and prevention of weather phenomena of nature and environmental hazards (rain, storm, fog, sunshine, storm, strong winds etc).
We note that in all municipalities of the Maliakos Gulf area encountered major infrastructure in ports, the use of which is strengthened with the establishment of the proposed project, which will contribute to the environmental protection.
 
Furthermore, Maliakos Gulf is considered the most important within the mainland from an environmental point of view that deserves special protection and listed in the National list of habitats included in the European ecological network Natura 2000. The Natura 2000 Network is a European ecological network of areas that are home to natural habitat types and species habitats that are important at European level. It consists of two types of areas: The "Special Protection Areas (SPA)" for the Birds, and "Sites of Community Importance (SCI). Finally, the Gulf of Maliakos crossing major roads (E75), and understand the importance of knowledge of local weather conditions for the transport, transport and tourism. 
 
In conclusion, the beneficiaries, as mentioned above include:
  • The Citizens (locals / tourists / transit passengers)
  • Workers in the special teams of the municipalities adjoining the Maliakos Gulf.
  • The Coast Guard and other entities operating on both coasts of Maliakos and ports and for traffic on adjacent roads
  • Non Profit Organizations and other independent bodies with environmentalist interest
  • Local Economy and Tourism
