Project presentation

The Information system of Management, Monitoring and Protection of Maliakos Gulf in Prefecture of Fthiotida is a pilot project and main purpose:
 
  • An infrastructure capable of following the pattern of weather and environmental phenomena in the region of Maliakos Gulf.
  • Informing people (employees, visitors, passing) for the condition of Maliakos Gulf using specially designed Site. In addition, a small charge, the information in the future can be made via SMS.
  • Information and coordinating the special teams of Municipalities of the region and other decision-makers (Coast Guard, Civil Protection, etc) for better management and prevention of weather phenomena of nature (rain, storm, fog, sunshine, storm, high winds etc).
  • Viewing the natural beauty of coastal shores of Maliakos Gulf through the collection, documentation and digitization of environmental material.

With this system, the Citizens (residents and travelers) will be informed and make informed decisions to prepare for travel and trips and Municipality of Pelasgia and other involved Municipalities will be able to exploit the full potential of special teams ensuring clean beaches and safe harbors. In addition, related information will be available in real time to all other decision-makers, such as Coast Guard, Civil Protection and others.
